Job Description:

SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

The Media Asset Specialist will have strong technical skills, experience with digital editing software, experience with digital asset management systems and a firm understanding of entertainment or broadcast media. The primary role for this position is to handle the ingest, archiving, organization, naming and distribution of all media assets for the Creative Production and Promotion Departments. This role will assist both the On-Air Promotion and Creative Services teams by receiving, storing and retrieving assets (raw video, films, series episodes, shoot footage, production stills, etc.) used for creative editorial - including tagging assets with appropriate metadata. In addition, the position will help facilitate the client approval, distribution and archival processes for completed video, non-video and digital content. The position will also ensure digital assets are in the appropriate format and actively manage the production servers to maintain optimal functionality and server space for new production assets.

The role’s secondary function is the acquisition and maintenance of stock photos and footage from outside companies that INSP uses in the creation of promos, web, print and digital assets. This position is responsible for finding and recommending music choices for promos and content, and helping the staff in creating, tracking and distributing music cue sheets per our required music reporting processes.

Finally, the Media Asset Specialist will be instrumental in working with our Broadcast Technology team to develop workflows for our upcoming Media Asset Management system.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Receives, stores and organizes digital media files and scanned images for timely retrieval and distribution.
* Ensures quality control of all digital, video and still assets coming in and out of the department to meet network specifications.
* Maintains organization of digital inventory, creating descriptions and entering key information into files for effective indexing, structure and categorization.
* Maintains optimal drive space on media servers, archiving and removing older assets to make room for newer assets.
* Ability to reformat sequences and clean print/replace clips in Adobe Premiere Pro to meet department editorial specifications.
* Ability to do rudimentary editing of photos and images in Photoshop.
* Assists users in researching and locating both internal and external stock images and footage, as well as securing the rights for use.
* Facilitates the distribution of finished assets to clients for approvals.
* Assists in the creation and authoring of DVDs for viewing and distribution
* Maintains working knowledge of approved music libraries and popular music trends in order to provide the creative staff recommendations for use in editorial projects.
* Organizes and facilitates the creation of music cue sheets for timely reporting processes

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelors degree or degree in applicable trade school
* Strong technical expertise and experience with digital editing software and digital asset management systems.
* Firm understanding of entertainment media, entertainment marketing broadcast history and pop culture trends.
* Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
* Candidate must be proficient in a Microsoft Office environment including Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, and Word. Mid-level experience with Adobe products: Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder knowledge required.
* Must have a strong understanding of digital file formats and codecs as well as DVD authoring software.
* Must have a working understanding of the FTP protocol and FTP applications.
* Proven ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
* Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and efficiently.
