SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Broadcast Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful operation and maintenance of our broadcasting facilities. As a Broadcast Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless transmission and delivery of audio and visual content to our audience. Your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to excellence will help us maintain a high-quality broadcasting experience for our viewers and listeners.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Provide immediate response and resolution to technical issues during live broadcasts or pre-recorded content, troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimize downtime.

  • Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of all broadcast equipment, including cameras, audio consoles, video servers, satellite receivers, transmission systems, and related hardware and software.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot broadcasting signals, ensuring consistent and reliable transmission through satellite, cable, or IP file-based systems.

  • Conduct regular tests and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry standards, promptly addressing any issues or discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with other teams, such as production and IT, to integrate new technology and ensure seamless workflows between various broadcasting systems.

  • Develop and implement contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous broadcasting in case of unexpected failures or emergencies.

  • Identify opportunities for technological improvements, participate in equipment upgrades, and recommend new solutions to enhance broadcasting efficiency and quality.

  • Design, install, and maintain accurate records, technical documentation, and inventory of broadcasting equipment and software.

  • Work flexible schedule which can include nights and weekends.

Experience and Skills:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience as a Broadcast Engineer or in a similar technical role within the broadcasting industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems, including cameras, audio and video processing equipment, transmission systems, and satellite technologies.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., ATSC, SCTE 104/SCTE 35, SMPTE, FCC regulations, etc.).

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues under pressure during live broadcasts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 broadcasting operations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

  • Proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with emerging broadcast technologies.
