Job Description:

SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

Individual plays a key role in the Finance and Accounting administration of the all the legal entities. Performs data entry and related operations in posting accounts receivable payments. Resolves credit balances and account problems; post refunds, adjustments and other account transactions. Works with the Director of AR, Credit and Collections and other A/R Team members to ensure monies are collected on a timely basis and in adherence with company policy. Works with the Director of AR, Credit and Collections (Director) to complete the month end and year end closing activities in adherence with accounting principles and company policy. Works closely with the Director to coordinate duties and activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes invoices for all legal entities
  • Prepares miscellaneous invoices as needed.
  • Posts cash receipts daily to Accounts Receivable system
  • Reconciles cash receipt postings daily to bank deposits.
  • Reviews credit balances, refunds, adjustments and applies adjustments to accounts.
  • Works closely with programming customers to resolve account differences and customer inquiries.
  • Works closely with Sales and Traffic departments to ensure customer information and invoicing is correct in the Accounts Receivable system.
  • Maintains customer information in the Accounts Receivable system.
  • Maintains Accounts Receivable reports.
  • Prepares and mails month-end customer statements.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records
  • Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares monthly and standard recurring journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Assists Director in preparing for external audits with minimal supervision.
  • Makes collection calls as assigned by the Director.
  • Assists Director in the credit approval process for programming customers.
  • Provides responses to customer credit reference inquiries.
  • Coordinates training for newly hired Accounts Receivable Specialists.
  • Participates in the formulation and administration of policies and procedures for Accounts Receivable.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Accounts Receivable, Sales and Traffic departments.

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 -7 years Accounts Receivable and general accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
