Job Description:

SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

The Benefits Administrator serves as employees’ primary point of contact for benefits enrollments and benefits questions. This individual also manages all billing for benefits plans, and, under the direction of the Director of Benefits, assists with administration of benefits plans and wellness initiatives. This individual will maintain good communication and a positive relationship with employees to promote employee satisfaction.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


* Under the direction of the Director, works with insurance broker to administer all benefits that make up the organization’s Welfare Benefit Plan, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accident and critical illness plans; as well as FSA and HSA.
* Leads new hire benefits orientation meetings and assists employees with completing their enrollments.
* Provides professional guidance and coordinates daily benefits processing to include enrollments, terminations, and qualifying events.
* Works closely with employees, Director and Payroll to administer Health Savings Account contributions.
* Reconciles enrollment reports and billings to employee records for the purpose of ensuring accurate eligibility and payment information.
* Assists with the maintenance of employee benefit files and employee payroll records with regards to benefit deductions.
* Manages aspects of ACA compliance, including reporting.
* Coordinates COBRA benefit continuation with third party provider to ensure compliance.
* Assists employees with requests to make benefit changes in accordance with laws and policy provisions.
* Assists Director with day-to-day management of the organization’s wellness program, and serves as employees’ primary point of contact.
* Assists Director with executing health and wellness related events.
* Assists Director with annual open enrollment, including communications, systems testing and employee elections/confirmations.
* Ensures exemplary customer service while maintaining employee confidence by keeping human resource information confidential.
* Ensures compliance with FMLA, state and local leave laws, and works with employees and managers when leave may be needed.
* Files and manages claims for income replacement benefits, including short-term and long-term disability.
* Ensures compliance with ADA and, under the direction of the Director, works with employees and managers when ADA accommodations may be needed.
* Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS


* Minimum 5 years’ experience in employee benefits field or related area.
* Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Accounting preferred.
* CEBS, PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification a plus.
* Experience in administering leave programs, particularly in states which have state and/or local leave laws preferred.
* Experience with Health Savings Accounts preferred.
* Experience with Paylocity a plus.
* Strong organization, analytical and prioritization skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and staff and with external parties.
* Self-starter who can collaborate as a team member and work independently.
* Capability to effectively plan and set priorities. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines with accuracy.
* Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations with regards to benefits administration a plus.
* Team player with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders.
* Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism when handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
* Ability to travel for meetings at other locations, up to 1 week every month.
