Job Description:

SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW

Traffic Services is critical to the success of the company as it oversees revenue dollars by managing and scheduling of programming, commercial and promotional inventory for broadcast.

The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure prompt and accurate execution of logs, sales orders and copy while maintaining a professional attitude at all times.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work internally with Programming, Scheduling, Ministry Outreach, Promotions, Network Services, Network Operations Control Center and externally with advertising agencies to ensure all commercials and paid programs are scheduled according to contracts.
  • Work with Programming to build show format/show times and breaks to maximize inventory.
  • Generate logs; adjust breaks & time out schedule. Apply last minute program changes by Scheduling.
  • Archive, print and send log file to NOC.
  • Work with Traffic Services department in managing workflow in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ensure accurate data entry of commercial instructions and paid programs from ad agencies into Broadway Traffic System.
  • Manage the placement of commercial spots and paid programs to maximize revenue and inventory.
  • Ability to execute sales orders as requested and track accuracy compared to contractual obligations.
  • Solicit commercial materials from ad agencies and content providers and facilitate delivery to the Media Center for ingest.
  • This position supports ad sales for all digital sales related matters, on assigned networks and processes commercial & sponsorship bookings into the traffic system.
  • This role works closely with sales departments, editorial programming, strategic planning, strategy and creative service departments. Supporting daily promos and manages all sold interactive campaigns with an emphasis on video/display advertising.
  • He/she is also required to support day-to-day operational issues of Digital Ad Sales from an ad serving and trafficking point of view. As well as involvement with project work.
  • Book, traffic, & manage campaign performance and distribution of weekly performance report to Digital sales staff.
  • Creative submission and testing, ensuring that the creatives meet our technical specs.- Campaign co-ordination between sales, agency, and 3rd party production/ad serving vendors.
  • Communicate with sales, programming, strategy and creative services departments daily to ensure a smooth operation for the network.- Participate in work projects.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

Back up Advertiser Individual Traffic Contributors as needed:

  • Enter commercials and paid programs into Broadway.
  • Assign paid programs to Sales orders.
  • Generate paid and non-paid program dub lists.
  • Generate dub lists for promos, ID’s, credits as requested by Network Services.
  • Crosscheck the entry of commercial instructions by Traffic Services.
  • Assist in the optimization of commercial spots based on highest dollars, order type, and advertiser/product separation.
  • Generate logs; adjust breaks & time out schedule. Apply last minute program changes by Scheduling.
  • Archive, print and send log file to NOC.

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Broadway Traffic System. (SIMS is a plus).
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a traffic and sales work environment.
  • Must have detail orientation, commitment to quality work product and strong organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
